Pop Art Sculpting: Where Colors Collide and Creativity Pops!
In this course young artists will dive into the realms of contemporary art, drawing inspiration from two iconic figures: Claes Oldenburg and Jeff Koons! Get ready to think big and create larger-than-life Pop Art sculptures using mixed media, inspired by Oldenburg’s imaginative reinterpretations of everyday objects, and Jeff Koons vibrant, playful, and often whimsical creations. In this dynamic course, artists will explore the fascinating intersection of everyday objects and art, just like Oldenburg did with his oversized interpretations of everyday items. They will also discover how to incorporate elements of Koons’ style, reflective surfaces to inflatable forms, into their own creations. Throughout the camp, students will delve into the Elements of Art and Principles of Design, learning how to manipulate form, color, texture, and space to bring their creative visions to life. Artists will gain hands-on experience in sculpting, drawing, painting, and assembling their Oldenburg and Koons-inspired piecesmasterpieces. Join us for a summer filled with artistic exploration, skill development, and the joy of bringing imaginative ideas to life through the lenses of Claes Oldenburg and Jeff Koons. It’s a camp where creativity knows no bounds, and every student becomes a sculptor of their own fantastic world!
